Although general study conditions are important for one’s academic achievement, accommodation services (e.g. student halls of residence, accommodation advice), recreational activities and inclusive sport courses outside the University context are just as important for most students at the University of Münster.

  • Student housing offered by the Münster Studierendenwerk

    The Münster Studierendenwerk (Student Support Services) offers single rooms, apartments and shared flats for rent throughout the city which are primarily tailored to students’ needs. Students with disabilities may be eligible for preferential selection on rental properties if they can prove that they have an impairment-related need for a corresponding form of accommodation (e.g. wheelchair-accessible flat, equipment suitable for the blind).

  • Student halls of residence offered by the Bischöfliches Studierendenwerk Münster

    There are a total of 430 single rooms and an additional 60 flats available in the five halls of residence operated by the Bischöfliches Studierendenwerk (Catholic Student Support Services of the Münster Diocese). These are located in downtown Münster. Some of the rooms and flats are wheelchair accessible.

  • Volkeningheim in the Protestant student community

    There are 57 rooms available for students in the 'Volkeningheim' ecumenical hall of residence, operated by the Protestant student community in Münster. Some of these are wheelchair accessible.

  • University Sports (HSP) courses

    Under the motto “University sports for everyone and with everyone!”, University Sports offers courses in some 150 kinds of sport. To make it easier to choose and participate in one or more courses, we recommend contacting the University Sports staff in advance to coordinate your plans. Ideas and suggestions for new inclusive sports activities are always welcome!

  • Behinderten-Sport Münster e.V.

    Behinderten-Sport Münster e.V. is an organisation that offers a wide range of sports activities for people with and without disabilities (e.g. volleyball, table tennis, gymnastics, swimming, sailing, sport shooting). The aim is to promote physical and mental health, boost self-confidence and establish social contacts. The activities are equally suitable for beginners and advanced participants.

  • Wheelchair basketball (UBC Rollis)

    The University Basketball Club Münster offers wheelchair basketball. Interested players, including beginners, are very welcome (non-wheelchair users can also take part in training on request).
