While in the 1950s paediatric rehabilitation cures were still unquestioningly seen as the ‘centrepiece’ of health care and welfare, the often negative, sometimes traumatic experiences of numerous ‘ sent away children’ have called this view into question in recent years. In relation to the nursery facilities in Bad Sassendorf, the project asks which social and cultural practices characterised everyday life and institutional life. To this end, interviews have already been conducted with those affected and archive sources have been catalogued. The aim is to develop a digital tour of the site.
