The Faculty of History & Philosophy sees itself as a community of subjects with a high potential for interdisciplinary discourse. Its aim is to strengthen the humanities and social sciences at the University of Münster and make them visible both nationally and internationally. The research activities in the faculty are broadly diversified in terms of content and methodology, and its members actively conduct research in numerous fields – be it in individual projects or jointly in research networks.
In addition to participating in the University of Münster's overarching research focuses, particularly within the impact area ‘Dynamic Societies’, the faculty has identified eight focus areas for the internal profiling of its research. Below you will find an overview of these research areas and the associated research projects as well as the researchers and institutions involved.
