The Faculty of History & Philosophy aims to ensure and improve the quality of its teaching and to this end evaluates courses with the help of surveys. The feedback from students is intended to help draw attention to problems and shortcomings and improve mutual understanding through open discussion. Participation in the evaluation is one of the duties of all teaching and research staff and all students (Evaluation Regulations § 4.3).
Evaluation in the summer semester 2025
Start: not scheduled
End: not scheduledA selection of courses will be evaluated in the summer semester 2025. The dates will be published after the meeting of the Study Advisory Board on 2 June 2025. It is also possible to carry out a voluntary evaluation of courses outside of this time frame.
Results of previous evaluations
The results of the evaluations can only be read on the intranet after entering a valid central user ID and the corresponding password. If you do not yet have a University ID, you can apply for one in the IT portal.
General information on the evaluation
The evaluation is based on the evaluation regulations for the academic entities of the University of Münster dated 25 November 2009. Evaluations at universities are a legal obligation arising from § 7 of the NRW Higher Education Act. They serve to ensure and improve the quality of teaching and are also an important factor in the accreditation of degree programmes.
All surveys are conducted online using the software EvaSys and are TAN-based. The surveys and TANs are created by the faculty administrator and sent via the system the day before the start of the evaluations. Teachers whose courses have time changes should contact Mr Kundy!
If teachers wish to carry out the evaluation of their courses via Learnweb, please follow these instructions. Please note that the Learnweb surveys must be created manually at a later date. Therefore, please only enter a different time period in the Learnweb module if it is urgently necessary to deviate from the evaluation time frame (e.g. for block courses, excursions). If you use the Learnweb, the TANs sent by the system in advance are no longer valid. Only the participants of your courses will receive a new TAN via e-mail after applying from the system.

Information for students
The online procedure for student course reviews allows you to answer the evaluation questions conveniently on the Internet. You will be asked to complete the questionnaires for the individual courses by the specified deadline at the latest.
You will receive the TANs (= transaction number) in the courses, which you can use to identify yourself to the system in order to submit your vote for the respective course. To do this, call up the EvaSys evaluation software and enter your TAN. You will then be taken to the questionnaire for your course (see sample questionnaire). The course is indicated at the top of the questionnaire.
The first block of questions asks for numerical codes for your degree programme and your intended degree. However, these can also be accessed in the questionnaire via a link. If you are aiming for several degrees at the same time, only enter one of your choice. If you cannot find your subject or degree in the list, leave the corresponding question unanswered.
The EvaSys system and special data protection guidelines (guidelines on data protection in teaching evaluations) guarantee the anonymity of the survey. In case of doubt (e.g. if there are very few participants in a course), you are free not to answer the gender question, for example.
Information for lecturers
All lecturers will receive an e-mail with the TANs (= transaction numbers) for the online survey as a PDF file for the courses to be evaluated. Please print this file, cut out the numbers and distribute them to the students on your course. This will give them access to the questionnaire for your course (see sample questionnaire). Please note that the e-mail addresses are imported directly from LSF!
At the end of the data collection, the results will be sent to you by e-mail in an evaluation report. It is recommended to discuss at least the ‘presentation template’ of the evaluation report with the students during the course. If the number of votes submitted falls below a certain value, you will not receive an evaluation.
