Dr. Rebecca Schlieckmann

Rebecca Schlieckmann earned her Master of Teaching degree from Griffith University in Australia in 2013, where she was awarded the Griffith Academic Excellence Award. During her master studies she particularly enjoyed her placements as a teacher trainee for the subjects English, English as a Foreign Language as well as Health & Physical Education at various schools in Queensland. She subsequently completed her teacher training (Referendariat) at a Gymnasium in the Ruhr area. After obtaining her second state exam, Rebecca Schlieckmann worked as a research assistant (University of Vechta & TU Dortmund) and as Studienrätin im Hochschuldienst (University of Paderborn) while also writing her doctoral dissertation.

In 2021 she successfully defended her PhD Dissertation titled: Der Übergang von der Grundschule zur weiterführenden Schule im Englischunterricht – eine Frage der Einstellung? Eine empirische Studie zu den Einstellungen von Englischlehrkräften der Grundschule und des Gymnasiums (The transition from primary to secondary school regarding EFL education – a matter of beliefs? An empirical study on primary and secondary school EFL teachers‘ beliefs). In 2021 she joined the TEFL team in Münster as lecturer. Her main research interests include early foreign language learning and teaching, the transition from primary to secondary school, teacher cooperation and EFL teacher education.

Please note that Rebecca currently serves as deputy professor for TEFL (primary school) at the Bergische Universität Wuppertal (https://www.anglistik.uni-wuppertal.de/en/staff/detail/schlieckmann/). She will not be able to issue references or supervise BA / M.Ed. theses until October 2025.
