The Dean's Office manages the faculty and represents the faculty within the University of Münster. It coordinates the courses offered as well as the distribution of positions and resources within the faculty, carries out doctorates and habilitations and ensures the work of the faculty's committees.

In order to fulfil the tasks of the faculty with regard to its course offerings, the promotion of research, the transfer of knowledge, the international exchange of knowledge, the support of young academics and equal opportunities, the faculty council cooperates with the dean's office, forms commissions and committees and appoints commissioners.

Under the responsibility of the faculty, numerous academic institutions from the subjects of history and classical studies, classical philology, cultural and social anthropology, art and musicology, and philosophy exist to carry out tasks in research and teaching.
