Challenging topics in young learners’ ELT: Global learning, racism, SDGs, and others

This project consists of several sub-projects which all investigate the exploration and integration of challenging topics in the young learners’ ELT classroom. Sub-projects involve

1) the general question whether challenging topics should be part of primary school ELT and why (in cooperation with Prof. Dr. Stefanie Frisch Goethe Uni Frankfurt)

2) how challenging topics that deal with global learning can be integrated into the primary school English classroom (in cooperation with Prof. Dr. Carmen Becker TU Braunschweig) and

3), more specifically and in cooperation with Prof. Dr. Frauke Matz, an exploration of the topic racism with young language learners via picture books.
