How can I determine if an apartment listing is scam/fraud?
Fraude prevention: Make sure to verify the contact information provided by the landlord. Look up their phone number and e-mail address online to ensure that this information matches with the details given in the listing. Also, always request to view the apartment in person before making any payments or signing any contracts. This will give you an opportunity to assess the legitimacy of the listing and confirm its location. And most important, do not transfer money before viewing the apartment, especially if the recipient insists on this method of payment.
