    Johanna Klapproth studierte Kommunikationswissenschaft an der Universität Münster. Während ihres Studiums war sie in verschiedenen Forschungsprojekten am Institut für Kommunikationswissenschaft als Studentische Hilfskraft tätig, unter anderem in der interdisziplinären Nachwuchsforschungsgruppe „DemoRESILdigital: Demokratische Resilienz in Zeiten von Online-Propaganda, Fake News, Fear- und Hate Speech“. In ihrer empirischen Masterarbeit befasste sie sich mit der Wirkung unterschiedlicher Förderungsansätze zur Verbesserung von Medienkritikfähigkeit und Stärkung demokratischer Resilienz. Seit Juni 2021 ist sie wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin im von Prof. Dr. Thorsten Quandt geleiteten Arbeitsbereich Online-Kommunikation.
