Here you will find relevant information for students at the Department of Communication. In the library you will find specialist literature for your studies. The IfK's Centre for Media Practice serves as a bridge between theory and practice. The departmental student body represents the students at the IfK. The IfK job portal is a free online database for internship and job advertisements in journalism, public relations, market and opinion research, and related fields.

Secretariat

In the secretary’s office (room 209), Karsten Höwelhans coordinates all the department's administrative tasks. Dagmar Schierenberg is in charge of student affairs (room 228). They are happy to answer any general questions. Susanne Heinemann (room 2014a) is responsible for the administration of third-party funded projects.

Library

The be-all and end-all of scientific work is dealing with literature. The IfK library offers ideal conditions for this: Thanks to computer-assisted research, a wide range of communication science publications can be found there in no time at all. The ULB's extensive press archive has now moved into its own building.

Media Practice

The Centre for Media Practice at the Department of Communication (IfK) serves as a bridge between theory and practice. The aim of the Competence Centre is to ensure the quality of media practice teaching. It also supports research and teaching at the department by providing a comprehensive infrastructure, workshops and technical know-how.

Start-up foundation

The REACH – EUREGIO Start-up Center at the University of Münster advises students and academics in all phases of their start-up projects. Founders receive support with questions regarding the development of the start-up idea, strategy, finances, etc.
