Frederik Richter has worked as a journalist for 20 years, specializing in business and investigative research. From 2015, he worked in various roles for the CORRECTIV research centre. Prior to that, he worked for around ten years in the Arab world and Southeast Asia, including as a correspondent for the Reuters news agency.

As a journalist, Frederik Richter has uncovered numerous cases of corruption and fraud and has led several award-winning investigations. He has published the non-fiction book Geheimsache Korruption with CORRECTIV-Verlag. He studied Communication Science, Economic Policy and Modern and Contemporary History in Münster from 1999 to 2004 and completed a year abroad at the American University of Cairo in 2001. He currently works for OpenSanctions databases.
