Dr. Lisheng Dong ist emerierter Professor und Dekan am Institut für „Government Policy and Public Management“, Graduate School, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, China. Aktuell forscht er über das „Marie Skłodowska-Curie actions - Research Fellowship Programme“ der EU an der University of Glasgow. 2011 verlieh ihm die Internationalen Vereinigung von Schulen und Instituten für Verwaltung den Pierre deCelles-Preis für "Tom CHRISTENSEN, Lisheng DONG, Martin PAINTER, Richard WALKER, Imitating the West? ? A Survey of Chinese Civil Servants on Public Sector Reform"

Dr. Dong ist Autor von 20 Büchern, 41 begutachteten Aufsätzen und Mitverfasser von 19 Büchern. Seine aktuellste Monographie trägt den Titel „Public Administration Theories: Instrumental and Value Rationalities.“ Er ist Mitherausgeber von „Urban Mobilization and the New Media in Contemporary China and China and the European Union“.
