The University of Münster and SC Preußen Münster have signed a cooperation agreement to promote competitive and elite sport in soccer. The cooperation, which has already existed for several years, is to be intensified in the coming years in order to systematically expand existing synergy effects between science and competitive and top-class sport.
Among other things, the University and Preußen want to work together to optimize the conditions for footballers who study at the University of Münster and play top-class sport at the same time. Young talents who are interested in both competitive sport and studying are also to be supported in future. The agreement, which runs until the end of 2030, was signed by Prof. Dr. Johannes Wessels (Rector of the University of Münster), Prof. Dr. Heiko Wagner (Dean of Studies at the Institute of Sports Science), Prof. Dr. Bernd Strauß (Top Sports Officer at the University of Münster), Jan-Philipp Müller (Head of University Sports) as well as Ole Kittner and Dr. Bernward Maasjost (President of SC Preußen).
