Commission for Equal Opportunities and Diversity
The Commission for Equal Opportunities and Diversity is elected from among the members of the Cluster of Excellence. The Equal Opportunities Officer is an advisory member. The Commission’s purpose is to develop measures to promote equal opportunities, to safeguard against discrimination in everyday working life, and to act as a point of contact for issues related to equality. The Commission regularly reports on its activities and makes recommendations to the Cluster of Excellence’s Board of Directors. It also works closely with the Equal Opportunities Officers of the participating departments and of the University of Münster as a whole.
The Commission has recently been involved, for example, in introducing a policy at the Cluster of Excellence to deal with sexualised discrimination and violence in the workplace, to improve accessibility in the Cluster building, to establish child-friendly zones, and to gather and provide material on diversity management at universities.
