(23.05.2011) Mit einer Studienreise des BA-Seminars ‚Mediensysteme’ ist die weitere Zusammenarbeit mit dem Department of Public Communication der Vytautas Magnus University (VMU Kaunas/Litauen) in dieser Woche erfolgreich gestartet.
Im Rahmen der von Anne Schulze und Jens Woelke betreuten Veranstaltung tauschten sich Studierende und Dozenten zu Fragen der Mediensystemen baltischer und deutschsprachiger Länder aus, entwickelten Analysemodelle für die Mediensystemforschung weiter, diskutierten aktuelle Forschungsfragen im Bereich der Öffentlichen Kommunikation und nahmen an einer Exkursion zur öffentlich-rechtlichen litauischen Rundfunk- und Fernsehgesellschaft (Lithuanian National Radio and Television, LRT) teil.
In Gesprächen mit der Leitung des Department of Public Communication der VMU wurden zudem Möglichkeiten erörtert, den Austausch von Lehrenden zu verstärken und gemeinsame Forschungsvorhaben zu initiieren, etwa eine Programmstrukturanalyse des litauischen Fernsehens anknüpfend an das IfK-Drittmittelprojekt ‚TV-Programmanalyse Österreich’. Verabredet wurde ferner eine Fortsetzung der Zusammenarbeit im Rahmen der Lehre: Etwa in Form von Tele-Teaching für die regelmäßigen BA-Lehrveranstaltungen zu ‚Medienstrukturen und –organisationsformen’ am IfK bzw. an der VMU Kaunas.

Teaching-Exchange with VMU Kaunas/Lithuania successfully launched.
A recent excursion taken by the students of the Media systems and media structure in Europe seminar hopes to lead to a deeper cooperation with the Department of Public Communication of the Vytautas Magnus University.
Within the framework of an event organized by Anne Schulze and Jens Woelke, students and professors exchanged their knowledge and insights regarding the media systems of the Baltic and German-speaking countries. The information shared has allowed the students to extend their own developed model for media system analysis. Both students and professors engaged in an animated discussion about current research questions in the field of public communication. Additionally, students from the WWU and VMU had the opportunity to take a trip to the Lithuanian public Radio and TV Broadcaster Lithuanian National Radio and Television, LRT.
During conversations with the head of the Department of Public Communication of the VMU, Prof.es Rūta Marcinkevičienė and Kristina Juraitė, there were many discussions about the possibilities of strengthening the exchange of information between teachers of both universities and also conducting research projects together. One such project that is being considered is the analysis of Lithuanian TV program which connects to the research focus of the IFK: TV program analysis. Both sides agreed to continue the cooperation in terms of Tele-teaching of the periodical BA-seminar Media structures and organizational forms of media, offered by the IFK and VMU Kaunas.
