Diversity Consulting

Diversity and equal opportunity are integral parts of the application process and play a central role in grant allocation decisions of the German Research Foundation (DFG). In order to further promote gender equality and diversity in science, the DFG has included the aspect of diversity in its research-oriented equality standards and expanded the name accordingly (Research-Oriented Equality and Diversity Standards). In addition to gender and gender identity, they now also include ethnic origin, religion and ideology, disability or chronic/long-term illness, as well as social background and sexual orientation. The combination of several dimensions of diversity in one person (intersectionality) should also be adequately considered when completing future applications.

Diversity Consulting at the University of Münster advises and supports all planned and ongoing collaborative research projects (e.g. collaborative research centres, research training groups, research groups) in promoting diversity and equity and works closely with the Equal Opportunity Office, which is responsible for gender consulting. Our services include:

  • advice on diversity and equal opportunity as part of the application process
  • support with the implementation of measures
