Jörg Verhoeven was appointed honorary member by the " allgemeinen deutschen Hochschulsportverbund " (adh) at the 117th general assembly on October 22, 2022 for his extraordinary commitment to university sports and the adh.
Jörg Verhoeven has been active in university sports in Münster since 2001. In 2014, he also took over its leadership. During this time, Hochschulsport hosted numerous competitive and educational events as well as association meetings. In 2002, University Sports joined the adh project "Partner University of Top Sports". Likewise, the Health and Performance Sports Center on the SportCampus, financed and operated by University Sports, was newly built. This represents a milestone in the development of our sports facilities.
Jörg Verhoeven was particularly committed to personnel development, dual careers and the compatibility of studies and top-level sport. Representative of this is his involvement in the adh project "Tandem Mentoring", which he first accompanied as a mentor in 2007.
In his honorary positions, such as at the Münster City Sports Association or in the State Conference for University Sports in North Rhine-Westphalia, Jörg Verhoeven worked tirelessly for the political positioning of university sports. According to Peter Lynen (laudator), this is another reason why Jörg Verhoeven is "regarded as an active shaper and initiator of university sports development and the association."
