ZIN members contribute to newly published edited volume“Umweltpolitik: Global und Gerecht”

The new edited volume "Umweltpolitik: global und gerecht" (engl.:"Environmental Policy: global and just") documents the (co-)lectures of the conference of the same name and contains contributions from the ZIN members Prof. Doris Fuchs and Prof. Sabine Schlacke as well as from ZIN junior scholar Tobias Gumbert.
In her contribution about the EU climate and energy policy as a central element of a sustainable energy policy (co-lecture on a main lecture by Sonja Thielges, Rainer Quitzow and Ortwin Renn), ZIN member Prof. Sabine Schlacke refers to the dependence of EU climate and energy policy on national policies. She argues that the implementation of the German model depends on the institutional land cross-sectoral linking of energy politics and on it being discussed comprehensively.

ZIN spokesperson Prof. Doris Fuchs and ZIN junior scholar Tobias Gumbert comment Johannes Wallacher’s text about growth in the service of sustainable development in their contribution “Nachhaltigkeit ist Wohlstand ohne Wachstum" (engl.:”Sustainability is prosperity without growth"). They address the reduction of the consumption of nature and the realisation of a good life for all as a political task and plead for a corresponding "reorganisation of the community with regard to social work, social security and previous market processes" (own translation) (Dabrowski et al. 2019: 9).
