„Green Faith“? – ZIN-speaker Prof. Doris Fuchs and Prof. Katharina Glaab investigate the Role of Faith-based Actors in the Global Sustainable Development Discourse
Research often covers ethical questions on sustainable development and governance with regards to civil society. On the contrary, less attention has been paid to the role of faith-based actors in this context even though many of these actors actively participate in debates on sustainable development.
The newly published article „Green Faith? The Role of Faith-Based Actors in Global Sustainable Development Discourse” by ZIN-speaker Prof. Doris Fuchs and her co-author Prof. Katharina Glaab examines norms and ideas that are introduced to the global development discourse by faith-based actors. The article is based on a content analysis of contributions by faith-based actors during the UN-summit Rio+20 in 2012. The article highlights how the ideas of faith-based actors differ from those of secular civil society actors. Thereby, the two authors shed light on a currently neglected scientific perspective on the international debate on sustainable development.
The article „Green Faith? The Role of Faith-Based Actors in Global Sustainability Development Discourse” is published in the journal Environmental Values, Vol. 27, Iss. 3. See full version here.
