In working paper No. 11 entitled “Solidarisch, nachhaltig, beteiligungsgerecht: Weltkirchliche Caritas-Arbeit – Notizen einer Peru-Reise mit Caritas International” (engl.: "Solidary, sustainable, participatory: World Church Caritas Work – Notes on a journey to Peru with Caritas International") Prof. Marianne Heimbach-Steins reports on her time in Peru with Caritas International last December. She set off on an eight-day trip to Peru with a travel group consisting of almost all leading Caritas employees from all over Germany and of Auxiliary Bishop Otto Georgens from Speyer in order to get to know the country, the people and especially the work of Cáritas del Perú. The various items on the agenda placed the topics disaster relief, support in adapting to climate change, inclusion and community work with older people as well as with teenagers in the forefront. They offered a diverse and exciting insight into the numerous projects of Caritas work on-site.
In her working paper, illustrated with many travel photos, Prof. Marianne Heimbach-Steins reflects upon her encounters and impressions against the background of social ethics.
