New Münster Research Fellow: Alcides Buss

We welcome Prof. Dr. Alcides Buss (Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina, Brazil) as a Münster Research Fellow. During his stay at our Cluster from February to December 2023 he will collaborate with Prof. Dr. Siegfried Echterhoff and other scientists from Mathematics Münster.

Alcides Buss is an excellent researcher in the field of Operator Algebras. He received his PhD in 2007 under the joint supervision of Siegfried Echterhoff and Ralf Meyer and has become one of the leading Brazilian researchers in the field since then. There is a long standing collaboration with researchers in Münster on various topics, which lead to twelve joint publications/preprints with researchers from Münster. Among these are important publications about exotic crossed products and amenability of group actions on operator algebras.

In February and March, his stay will be funded by a Humboldt Research Fellowship. From April to July 2023 he will be the holder of the "Giovanni Prodi Chair" at the University of Würzburg.
