Joint Annual Conference of DGPuK divisions Science Communication and Communication History in Münster
(05.02.2019) From February 5th to February 7th, the Department of Communication organizes the joint annual conference of the DGPuK (German Communication Association) divisions Science Communication and Communication History.
Under the title “Science Communication and Communication History: Upheavals, Transformations, Continuities” the conference will deal with Science Communication from historic and present communication perspectives, thus focusing on the connection between Media Change and societal transformations.
At the beginning of the conference, Prof. Hans Peter Peters (Forschungszentrum Jülich und Freie Universität Berlin) will give a keynote speech on the topic “From the popularization of Science to democratic Science? Transformations, Changes of Perspective, and Illusions in Science Communication”.
On the conference program, there are 6 panels with a total of 19 contributions. Further, the "Nachwuchspreis Kommunikationsgeschichte" will be awarded during the conference.
The conference is organized by Andreas Scheu (IfK), Thomas Birkner (IfK), Birte Fähnrich (Berlin), and Christian Schwarzenegger (Augsburg).
