Virtual Computer on MacOS

To be able to use a virtual pool computer under macOS, you must first install the "VMware Horizon Client" software. After installation, you can set up the client.

• Installation of the client

  Step 1:

  You can download the necessary installation package for the VMWare Horizon Client here .
  
  Now open the downloaded installation image. In the window, drag the ‘VMWare Horizon Client.app’ icon into the ‘Applications’ folder for installation.

  

  Step 2:

  Now start the programme. Confirm any authentication message that may appear by entering your Mac user name and password.

  

• Use of the client

  Step 1:

  Enter ‘ZIVVDI.WWU.DE’ as the connection server.

  

  Step 2:

  In the login window, please enter your university user ID and the central password. Under Domain, please select ‘WWU’.

  

  Step 3:

  You can now start a session in the desired computer pool in the overview.

  

  Notice

  During installation, you will be asked to allow the programme access to the system. You can do this via the system settings under ‘Security’. Firstly, cancel the protection by clicking on the lock symbol at the bottom left of the window. Now you must authorise access under ‘Input Monitoring’ and under ‘Accessibility’ for ‘VMWare Horizon Client.app’ by ticking the box.
