Workshop on medieval traditions of political advice

The international workshop "Cultures, Sources and Ideas in the Traditions of Political Advice" on 20 and 21 April 2023 will be devoted to recent developments in the history of political thought. Organiser Dr Sophia Mösch (Käte Hamburger Kolleg Münster) argues for broadening the perspective towards the East and towards processes of cultural transfer in order to understand the political, religious and legal origins of Europe more comprehensively. The focus of the two-day workshop is on the political advice literature  in different cultural contexts from late antiquity to the early modern period. On Thursday evening, there will be a public evening lecture by Sophia Mösch entitled "Cultures, Sources and Ideas in the Traditions of Political Advice: A Dynastic Comparison".
