Insights into Science
The Cells-in-Motion Cluster of Excellence (CiM) opened the doors of its labs for approximately 30 representatives from business and economy in Münster yesterday. Supported by Prof. Dr. Ursula Nelles (left), rector of the University of Münster, the CiM coordinators Prof. Dr. Lydia Sorokin and Prof. Dr. Michael Schäfers (right) gave insights into the work of the 80 research groups of the cluster of excellence. After a brief introduction twelve scientists demonstrated the broad range of biomedical imaging strategies to the guests. With technologies such as light microscopy, ultrasound imaging and tomographic methods CiM investigates the dynamic interaction of cells in the body, which determine whether we are healthy or not. Michael von Bartenwerffer (2nd from left), chairman of the Business Initiative Münster (Wirtschaftsinitiative Münster), and Max Stroetmann (in the middle), member of the advisory board of the mercantile community (Kaufmannschaft Münster), and the other participants were enthusiastic and asked the scientists plenty of questions during the evening.
