    Salih Demirtas ist Doktorand im Studiengang Musikwissenschaft und Musiktheorie an der Technischen Universität Istanbul (ITU). Er befasst sich mit auditiver Geschichte in Istanbul von 1623 bis 1774, basierend auf akustemologischen und multisensorischen Ansätzen. Er erlangte 2019 seinen MA Abschluss in Ethnomusikologie am "Center for Advanced Studies in Music" (MIAM) and ITU mit einer Abschlussarbeit über die “Critical Edition of Hampartsum Manuscript YZPER2 in the Private Archive Of Ali Rifat Çağatay”. Zudem hat er ein BA-Studium in Journalismus absolviert und durchlief eine Ausbildung in Tontechnik am SAE Amsterdam. Demirtas ist zudem tätig als Redakteur im Turkish Music Academic Circle (TUMAC) sowie als Forscher in der ITU Ottoman-Turkish Music Research Group (OTMAG). Seit September 2019 arbeitet er als wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter am Orient-Institut Istanbul für das Coprus Musicae Ottomanicae Projekt.
