Fellowships at the Centre for Empire Studies

The Centre for Empire Studies: (Post)Colonial Histories and Global Entanglements (CES) at the University of Münster offers fellowships for early-career researchers in the humanities and social sciences. The fellowships will begin on October 1, 2025, and will have a duration of up to six months.
The CES is an interdisciplinary research center at the Department of History of the University of Münster. It is dedicated to the analysis of imperial and post-imperial societies, as well as global entanglements and mobility. The CES aims to contribute to international research and enrich contemporary societal debates. Additionally, a fellow workshop is planned, where research projects can be presented and discussed.
The fellowship is open to PhD candidates, postdoctoral researchers, or international equivalents without tenure, whose research is connected to at least one of the three main research areas of the CES. A workspace will be provided during the stay in Münster, and both German and English are working languages at the CES.
Applications, including a motivation letter, project proposal, CV, and additional documents, can be submitted digitally as a single PDF file by 31 March 2025 to: ces@uni-muenster.de.
