Intercultural exchange with students from the PUC Valparaíso in Münster
We are pleased to welcome a group of students from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso (PUCV) to the University of Münster on 28 and 29 October 2024. The group of students from Chile, led by Prof. Daniela Leal, can expect a varied two-day programme at the University of Münster, coordinated by the Brazil Centre and covering both academic and cultural aspects.
Students of the University of Münster are cordially invited to exchange ideas with our Chilean guests and gain insights into their student life and the country of Chile! On 28.10.24, at 4 pm, am Bispinghof 2, room BB402, the Language Centre is offering an intercultural session to enable an exchange about similarities and differences in Münster and Valparaíso in Spanish or English. Students at the University of Münster will have the opportunity to learn more about the PUCV and Valparaíso, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and known as the jewel of the Pacific Coast. The guests will also be able to find out more about the psychology course at the University of Münster by talking to a student representative of course.
During the visit to the International Office, the group will find out about university life in Münster with student assistants. They will also gain first-hand experience of sitting in a seminar room at a German university: They will attend a seminar at the Institute of Pedagogy, with Prof Dr Onno Husen. Walks through the city and the botanical garden are also planned.
The initiative for the visit arose during the first institutional visit by representatives of the Brazil Centre at the PUCV in August 2024, as part of the discussions held there at the PUCV International Office. The aim of the delegation's visit to Chile was to explore the potential for cooperation in research and study between the two universities on the basis of existing relationships between the University of Münster and the PUCV. The visit programme in Münster was planned in collaboration with the Catholic University of Applied Sciences North Rhine-Westphalia (Katho), where the students are visiting on 30 and 31 October.
