APOENA meeting in NRW: Brazilian researchers are invited to the event at RWTH Aachen University
The 2nd meeting of the Brazilian Diaspora for Science and Innovation in North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW) will take place on Friday, 18 October 2024, from 13:30 to 19:00. This time at the Rheinisch-Westfälische Technische Hochschule Aachen (RWTH Aachen University), in the Skylounge of the main building (4th floor), Templergraben 55, 52062 Aachen.
The event is being organised by the coordinators of Apoena's NRW hub, Carol Junho and Caio Ponce. Apoena's NRW network emerged from the first diaspora meeting in NRW, which took place in 2023 as part of the Brazil Science Days at the University of Münster. With the support of the Brazil Centre and the Brazilian Embassy in Berlin, a diverse group of researchers and academics came together for an open and enriching exchange.
The upcoming meeting in Aachen will provide an opportunity to expand the network of contacts and present funding opportunities from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, and the DFG German Research Foundation (DFG; to be confirmed). The event will also feature a presentation on the 200th anniversary of German immigration to Brazil (to be confirmed), followed by a cocktail reception.
Participation is free and registrations can be made from August via the link that will be made available through the communication channels.
The main language of the event will be Portuguese and no translation will be provided. However, some parts of the programme will be presented in English.
