DC04: Kai Wang

Personal Background:

Hi, this is Kai. I came from a city called Shijiazhuang (石家庄), China. The literal translation of my hometown into English would be ‘Rock Home Town’. Unfortunately, I became to be a very nerdy football fan instead of a hardcore Rock-n-Roller.

Study Background:

I pursued my bachelor degree at Deakin University, Australia, studying Exercise and Sports Science; and did my postgraduate at University of Tsukuba, Japan, majoring in Sports Science and Medicine.

Other research experiences prior to TReND:

During my undergraduate, I did some placements at the biomechanics labs at Deakin and Victoria University. The topics were around walking and running biomechanics, and exoskeleton support to post-stroke population. And during my postgraduate, I generated my thesis around the topic of motor variability of overhead squat movement, based on the results from the biomechanical experiments from University of Tsukuba and Swedish School of Sport and Health Sciences.

University/Institute:

Department of rehabilitation Jonköping University

Personal rsearch project:

Project No. 4  – Virtual motor training of individuals with upper extremity amputations – Relative effects on movement variability and cognitive load.

Supervisor team:

Prof. Nerrolyn Ramstrand and Prof. Dido Green

Expectations:

"I hope my research to be beneficial to some people’s lives. Even just a tiny bit. I am also looking forward to seeing some other meaningful research from my peers from TReND."
