“The Sportpaten-project prepares children and students for the future,” says Marie Ghanbari, the initiator of the project and corresponding seminar. It highlights the skills that make us successful in life. It enables students to do voluntary work beyond their studies and to develop empathy themselves while conveying this to the child. What is crucial for young people today is that they don't just study their subject. Social-emotional skills are developed through interaction. So far, the sports sponsorship project and seminar has been integrated into five departments at the University of Münster and trains up to 100 students every year in the interdisciplinary sports sponsorship seminars. It is a win-win situation for both the ca. 100 students as well as the children who are trained annually by Marie Ghanbari and her team in interdisciplinary seminars at the University of Münster. Representatives from universities, schools, business as well as the sports sponsors and sports sponsors with OECD Education Director Andreas Schleicher, mayor Markus Lewe and the founder and management Dr. Marie Ghanbari discussed the social relevance of the sports sponsorship project and its expansion beyond the borders of Münster and Germany. With a successful and forward-looking positive result: expanding the project together with the roundtable's network. Interdisciplinary higher education is intended to strengthen educational equality for children and to train students in key qualifications such as empathy and social responsibility, which will enable practical learning for even more students at the University of Münster and FH Münster.
