6th Chembion Symposium

Our Research Training Group, "Chemical Biology of Ion Channels" held a fantastic symposium on February 7th at the University of Münster, featuring engaging discussions and outstanding scientific exchange. Esteemed speakers from physiology, pharmacology, and industry delivered insightful presentations that received superb feedback. The event attracted numerous associated research groups and departments, further enriching the exchange of ideas.
Special thanks to Prof. Dr. Rasmus Prætorius Clausen from the University of Copenhagen for his talk “Development of subtype-specific NMDA receptor modulation”, Prof. Dr. Jean-Ju Chung from Yale School of Medicine for her talk “Spam Ca2+ channel research for reproductive medicine”, Dr. Manuela Cerina from LifeArc (UK) for her talk “Translation in neuroscience: learning from academia and industry”, Prof. Dr. Christos Gatsogiannis form the University of Münster for his talk “Structural basis of α-latrotoxin transition to a cation-selective channel” and Dr. André Bastos from Sea4US (Protugal) for his talk “Valuing the chain between academia and industry”.
Highlight was the poster session by the doctoral candidates and postdocs of Chembion and associated working groups, for which three posters were awarded poster prizes, supported by the Förderverein Epilepsieforschung an der Universität Münster e. V. Congratulations to the winners of the poster awards Dominika Ciechanska, Hanna Kuß und Joana Massa.
We would also like to thank the organizing team Lena Beuke, Calvin Dunker, Teresa Mittermair, Florian Roßner and Wenxin Felix Zhu, who were responsible for this great day of scientific exchange. We are already looking forward to the coming symposium in spring 2026.
