Can the software for home use be loaded onto CDs?
According to German copyright law (§69d Abs. 2 UrhG), anyone can currently load an ISO image of the downloaded software onto a CD as a backup copy.
Please note that each authorized person may only load the software for their own use on a CD and obtain the corresponding installation keys.
Why is Microsoft Office/Office Developer not included?
The focus of Azure Dev Tools for Teaching lies in the support of teaching institutions with tools and platforms as they are necessary for teaching and research in the study courses Computer Science, Engineering and Natural Sciences, Business Administration and IT Vocational Schools.
However, you can obtain Office via the Microsoft Office365 subscription for members of the university. Simply follow the link.
Who else is allowed to use Azure Dev Tools for Teaching besides students/trainees?
Azure Dev Tools for Teaching may be used not only by students/trainees but also by the following groups of persons:
- Professors and lecturers in the context of their teaching activities and all related areas,
- scientific employees within the framework of teaching activities and for their academic education and further training, e.g. within the framework of a dissertation or habilitation,
- Administrators, provided that they operate laboratories for academic training.
Can Azure Dev Tools for Teaching be used for research purposes?
Azure Dev Tools for Teaching may only be used for research purposes at universities, as long as it is directly related to the academic teaching activities. Microsoft understands this to mean student research and diploma projects or research projects within the framework of academic education and training, such as dissertations or habilitations. Other research projects may not be supported with Azure Dev Tools for Teaching.
