IVV1 offers the departments and institutions it supports assistance in using the server-based project and document management system BSCW (Basic Support for Cooperative Work). A BSCW server is the extension of a web server with groupware functionality. Several people (research groups, seminars) can work on joint projects without having to worry about network shares and authorisations. This also makes it easier to work on a project from any location. Files can be edited locally and then uploaded to the BSCW server, where others can edit them either directly or after a download. Only a web browser is required to access the data.
Due to the licence structure, the server may only be used for teaching purposes.
You can find out more about the BSCW server and its functionality at https://www.bscw.de/. If you have any questions or would like to use BSCW, please send an e-mail to ivv1@uni-muenster.de or give us a call.

The University of Münster provides its institutions with a so-called Web Content Management System, WCMS, called ‘Imperia’ for the maintenance of websites. This system enables you to maintain websites independently without the need for the programming skills (e.g. HTML) that are normally required.
If you are planning a new project, we can offer you the necessary advice and set up the working environment in Imperia alongside the ‘Communications and Public Relations’ department.
If you have any questions about using Imperia and the necessary steps, please give us a call or send an e-mail to ivv1.
Documentation on the content management system can be found within the Imperia system. However, they are aimed at users who have already been trained and are not suitable as initial information on the subject of content management with Imperia. Appropriate training may be helpful. Please contact us if you have individual problems. You can access the Imperia server at Imperia.uni-muenster.de. If you want to access the server from outside the University of Münster, a VPN connection is required.
Are you interested in your own documentation platform for your institute or a project? Then contact us and we will be happy to set up your own documentation platform.
We offer the option of creating your own blog using Wordpress software. If you are interested, please get in touch with us.
