Summer School “Child welfare and Disability” 09.06.-13.06.2025 at the University of Münster, Institute of Education (Germany)

If you're interested in further developing your expertise in child welfare and disability apply to take part in our Summer School. The event will jointly be held by Trinity College Dublin the University of Dublin, the University of Graz, the University of Osnabrück and the University of Münster. During the week-long program in Münster/Germany you will explore topics around working with children and parents with disabilities, self-organisations and advocacy, child protection as well as disability and the digital world. Lectures and seminars will be taught by (international) scholars which gives you an opportunity to learn new aspects and familiarize yourself with international research in the field. The program also offers insights into local initiatives working in the field. Of course, there will also be plenty of opportunities to get to know new people and enjoy the city of Münster.

Who can apply? Master and bachelor students of social work and education or students who have some other connection to the topic of the Summer School, enrolled at the time of the event at the University of Osnabrück, University of Klagenfurt, Wien and Graz, Trinity College Dublin the University of Dublin or University of Münster are welcome to apply. Your participation during the whole week must be ensured. Since the Summer School will be held in English, advanced language skills in English will be necessary. We have a maximum of 20 participants.

Registration fee: There will be a registration fee of 50 euro which will be refunded upon your participation at the Summer School in Münster.

Which costs will be covered? Students from the Universities of Ireland and Austria will receive a travel fee. For those students, accommodation will be covered for a shared double room as well as breakfast. There will be a welcome event and a farewell evening including food and drinks as well as sightseeing activities covered by the University of Münster for all students. Lunch and dinner have to be paid for by all participants.

Is the event accessible? The venue is wheelchair-accessible and there is a double room wheelchair-accessible pre-booked for two persons. Please let us know what you need for your participation in the Summer School in den application form.

Can I get credit points for participation? All participants receive a certificate for their participation in the Summer School. It is possible to receive a confirmation of the workload and ECTS from the University of Münster after completing the Summer School. The recognition of the ECTS depends on the home universities.

How can I apply? Please fill in the application form and send it to "your" universities contact person (for information see below). The registration will close on the first of February and you can expect a feedback about your registration at the beginning of March.
