24th FAPESP WEEK in Germany: New impetus for German-Brazilian research cooperation

The São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) together with the German Research Foundation (DFG) invites interested parties to the FAPESP WEEK Germany in Berlin on 25 and 26 March 2025.

The two-day symposium brings together leading researchers from São Paulo and Germany and offers a varied programme with keynotes, scientific sessions and panel discussions. In addition, information will be provided on funding opportunities for research projects between São Paulo and Germany. The aim of the event is to intensify scientific cooperation between São Paulo and Germany. This is the 24th edition of FAPESP Week worldwide, which is being held in Germany for the first time since 2014.

The University of Münster will be excellently represented at the event in Berlin: Prof Dr Humpf, Institute of Food Chemistry, and Prof Dr Dobrindt, Institute of Hygiene, will take part in the scientific session on The Future of Good Research and Nutrition as chair and speaker respectively. The team from the Brazil Centre will also be taking part in the entire FAPESP Week.

The event offers a unique platform to exchange ideas with scientists from São Paulo and numerous German research institutions, to get to know innovative research approaches and to find out about cooperation and funding opportunities. Interested parties are therefore cordially invited to take part.

FAPESP is one of the most important research funding organisations in Latin America. It is financed by public funds, i.e. taxes, regionally in the federal state of SP, and has the task of promoting scientific research in all areas of knowledge. To this end, it awards scholarships, fellowships and grants to researchers associated with Brazilian higher education and research institutions in the state of São Paulo.
