Joint Workshop of the Law Faculties of the Universities of São Paulo and Münster
On May 2nd and 3rd, the Faculty of Law of the University of Münster welcomed professors from the Universidade de São Paulo (USP) for a joint workshop. Representatives of both faculties presented their current research projects and deepened the existing cooperation between the USP and the University of Münster.
Prior to the workshop, there was already a strategic, academic partnership between the USP and the University of Münster. There were also individual cooperation projects at the faculty level in the field of law. However, the workshop was an important step in deepening this existing cooperation.
The diverse and current workshop topics were the impulse for a vibrant professional exchange. Topics have included gender-based violence and criminal law, the legal and philosophical implications of artificial intelligence, and freedom of expression in a comparative constitutional analysis.
During the lunch meeting and workshop dinner held on Thursday evening, the participants were also able to exchange ideas beyond the subject area. This provided the foundation for further joint research projects and more intensive cooperation between the two faculties.
The workshop, organised by the Chair of Public Law, International and European Law and Empirical Legal Research of Prof. Dr. Niels Petersen, was funded by the Karina and Erich Schumann Centre for Advanced International Legal Studies and the Internationalisation Fund of the University of Münster.
Many thanks go to all those involved and especially to the sponsors!
