The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) has launched a new call for its Doctoral Scholarship Programme in Germany. Applications are open until 11 September 2024 (until 00:00 CEST, 19:00 BRT), offering a unique opportunity for Brazilian PhD candidates who wish to deepen their research in Germany.

The programme offers two types of scholarships: Full Doctorate, which allows candidates to complete their entire doctoral program in Germany, and Sandwich Doctorate, which includes the option of Cotutelle, where the doctoral student conducts part of the research in Brazil and part in Germany. The benefits include a monthly stipend of 1,300 euros, health insurance, airfare, and a one-time research grant, ensuring robust support for the selected candidates.

Applicants should be aware of the eligibility criteria: the most recent academic degree must have been obtained within the last six years, and the applicant must not have resided in Germany for more than 15 months at the time of application. The required level of language proficiency varies depending on the study plans and research area.
