Basic criteria for ensuring academic quality - Focusing on skills
When planning a degree programme, coordinators must focus on those skills which students should have gained by the time they complete their studies. This represents the fundamental paradigm shift brought forth by the Bologna reform. It no longer suffices to plan a degree programme based solely on content, but also on that which provides future graduates with key skills and professional qualification.
Developing a curriculum for a degree programme on the basis of qualification objectives enables students to recognise a common theme in their studies. They have the chance to form connections between sub-disciplines, research methods and single aspects.
