Poster prize at the asp conference 2024

Edda van Meurs won the poster prize at the 56th conference of the Arbeitsgemeinschaft für Sportpsychologie (asp). The poster was selected from 40 others on site and honoured on Saturday at the concluding event. The study that Edda van Meurs presented on behalf of Alexander Banning, Dennis Dreiskämper and Bernd Strauss, analyses the performance development of Olympic track and field athletes before, during and after the COVID-19 pandemic. The multilevel analysis finds that elite athletes periodise well throughout the Olympic cycle. It was interrupted in 2020 due to the pandemic, however, performances recovered effectively, explaining the high level of performance in 2021.
