"Universitätsgesellschaft" supports PharMSchool

Since 1918, the Universitätsgesellschaft Münster (formerly: Gesellschaft zur Förderung der Westfälischen Wilhelms-Universität e.V.) has directly supported the Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität (WWU) Münster where state funds are not available or insufficient. It supports numerous projects, foundations and endowment prizes. In particular, it awards the annual Young Researcher Award and the Ernst Hellmuth Vits Award every two years.

The Universitätsgesellschaft Münster will continue to financially support several projects at Münster University in 2023. Nine projects, including three so-called "lighthouse projects", will receive funding totalling 51,000 euros.

One of the three currently funded "lighthouse projects" is the PharmSchool, an initiative of the Pharmacy teaching unit that accompanies students through the four-semester main study period. In group projects, various aspects of pharmaceutical science are examined from the different perspectives of the individual sub-areas and brought together.

The current project "Digital tablets from the 3D printer - bringing innovative drug production into teaching" is supported with almost 9600,-€. The photo shows Dr Frauke Weber and Dr Stefan Esch (front left in the picture) at the symbolic cheque handover in the castle. The money will be used to purchase a melt extruder and a 3D printer with which PharmSchool graduates can prepare themselves for current challenges in industry, pharmacies and hospitals.
