The principle here is that infrastructural expenses and those that improve the service level of the resources offered are generally borne centrally by IVV and only the costs incurred by the additional use are calculated.

Additional storage space can currently be provided in three ways:

  1. As Expansion of the disk quota in the central NAS cluster (home drive and group drive).
    The optimal combination of fast and less expensive storage areas is automatically provided at a unit price and the advanced functions of the HP 3PAR StoreServ and HP StoreEasy systems are used. The data is mirrored fail-safe over two locations, virus protection, data backup via snapshot procedure (VSS) and TSM backup takes place.
    Or as a vDisk on a VM in the central vSphere cluster.The optimal combination of fast and less expensive storage areas is automatically provided at a unit price. Virus protection and data backup must be ensured by the server/ VM.
  2. As an additional storage area in the central NWZnas cluster.
    The storage class (FastClass (FC, fast), Nearline (NL, low-cost)), the availability requirement (unreflected, mirrored) and the data backup (snapshot or TSM backup only) can be selected. Virus protection is also mandatory here.
  3. As Virtual Volume in the Fibre Channel SAN of the IVV, for this either the connection of a server to the SAN of the IVV or a virtual machine in the central vSphere cluster of the IVV is necessary, whereby additional costs arise. Virus protection and data protection must be provided by the server/ VM.

Ordering Disk Space

The storage space should be taken into account in new purchases (e.g. replacement of storage systems) and updated and maintained accordingly.
