GIMP is a pixel-based graphics program that includes functions for image editing, image retouching, image composition and digital painting of raster graphics. The editing functions can be accessed via toolbars, menus and permanently displayed palettes. These contain so-called filters for graphic effects, as well as brushes and transformation, selection, layer and masking functions. The software is an easy-to-use graphical layout editor for creating PCBs. It can combine schematics, component placement, PCB unbundling and extensive library content.
