What is DreamSpark Premium?

DreamSpark Premium is a program offered by Microsoft to schools, vocational schools and universities whose educational focus is in the field of software development.

Within the framework of DreamSpark Premium, you can obtain the following products from IVV Naturwissenschaften, among others:

• Microsoft Windows 7, 8.1 und 10 Pro (32- und 64-Bit-Versions)
• Microsoft Visual Studio Enterprise 2015 (inkl. C#, C++, Basic)
• Microsoft Visio Professional 2016 (32- and 64-Bit-Version)
• Microsoft Project Professional 2016 (32- and 64-Bit-Version)
• Microsoft Access 2016

Please note that Microsoft Office is not included in the subscription.

This license program covers the use of the provided software tools not only on the laboratory systems of the participating school or university. The software can additionally be installed on the private computers of teachers, university staff, pupils and students, provided that it is used exclusively for research and teaching.

The program has two primary goals:

• Provide Microsoft software - e.g. developer tools, operating systems and server applications - for the teaching sector as a transfer of know-how
• Provide access to Microsoft technologies for all students and IT trainees - even those who can't afford them.

What is the VMware Academic Program?

The VMware Academic Program (VMAP) is an offering from VMware for the higher education sector.

Within the framework of VMAP, you can obtain the following products from IVV Naturwissenschaften, among others:

• VMWare Workstation for Linux and Windows
• VMWare Fusion Pro for OS X
• Server products like vCenter and vSphere

This license program covers the use of the provided software in the context of research projects and teaching. Students who use the software in the context of teaching courses may also use it on their private computers. The same applies to students and staff members who use the programs in the context of research projects.
