Music School Cooperations
Herten Music School
The Herten Music School is a communal educational institution that offers instrumental lessons as well as ensemble work for children, young people and adults. The support of an inclusive school system creates the working basis of the school for teaching basic musical skills. Cooperation with general education schools, special needs schools, senior centers and intercultural programs are key elements of the music school concept. The instrument carousel, children's concerts and the WDR Castle Concert series are part of a colorful program in Herten. The development of perspectives on the social significance of musical education is intended to form a cornerstone for professional careers.

Musical interaction is the central focus of the music school. In addition to classical instrumental training for string, keyboard and wind instruments as well as percussion, the music school also includes a department for jazz, rock and pop.
Cooperations with all types of schools, clubs, daycare centers, family education centers and offers for various projects as well as a large selection of orchestras, ensembles, bands and choirs form the basis for an exciting exchange between students and music school teachers. Additional programs such as the JeKi and JeKits concept, which has been continuously developed since 2009, expand the possibilities for making music together. Interested people of all ages receive musical training at approximately 16 teaching sites in Greven, Emsdetten and Saerbeck.Peter Schilmöller | Project coordination
