Urban Climate, Air Pollution, and Climate Protection

The urban climate is different from the rural climate in various aspects. We are mostly interested in the urban heat island effect, in air pollution, and in the emission of greenhouse gases, specifically CO2. Urban climate and climate protection are thus tightly interwoven. Specifically the street traffic offers large potential for environmental and climate protection. We are active in the climate protection advisory board of the municipality of Münster.
