Executing runs in Playbooks

Once you have created a playbook, i.e. a workflow, it can be executed by you and your colleagues in a so-called run. A run is usually completed when all tasks defined in the playbook have been marked as completed.

    1. Start run

Open your playbook. Once you have made all the desired settings, you can start the run by clicking on “Run” in the top right-hand corner.

    2. Name run

So that you can distinguish the run from other runs from the same playbook, you should now give it its own name. You can also specify the channel in which the updates should be posted or whether a new channel should be created explicitly for this run.

    3. Complete tasks

When the cycle is active, “In progress” is displayed at the top left. In the meantime, you can mark tasks as completed by clicking on the checkboxes. You can still edit the tasks here, assign them to specific colleagues or set a due date.
You can inform the channel about your update by clicking on “Send update”.

    4. Send updates

A window will then open in which you can add certain information to your update. Alternatively, you can also end the run.

    5. Post update

If you then switch to the channel that you have linked to the run, you will see the progress posted there.
