Create Mattermost channel

A Mattermost channel is an organizational unit subordinate to a team, such as a working group. Channels can be private and public. If the latter is the case, anyone can see the channel and join without an invitation.

    1. Create new team
    Click on the “+” symbol on the left-hand side and on "Create new channel" to create a new channel. Please make sure that the channel is created in the team that you have open at the time.

    2. Name the channel
    You must now give the channel a name that is as meaningful as possible. You can also specify here whether the channel should be public or private. Once you have selected this, click on “Create channel”.

    3. Add members
    If you would like to invite members to your channel, click on your new channel in the channel overview on the left. Then, as shown in the screenshot, click on the name of the channel and then on “Add members”. There you can search for the desired person and invite them.
