research Area C: Philosophy of Evolution and disease

Research area C involves research in philosophy of science. This is important for two reasons: on the one hand, the philosophical reflection on evolution and on evolutionary medicine will itself benefit enormously from immersion into the scientific research setting and from having intimate access to modern research methodology and theorizing; on the other hand, philosophy will help the scientists clarifying crucial and pressing conceptual problems, regarding, e.g., various concepts of disease and the options to understand the ontology of causes of disease.
