AG Bildgebung des Gehirns (Prof. Andreas Jacobs)

Wir entwickeln molekulare Bildgebungsstrategien für Entzündungsprozesse im Gehirn, die bei neurodegenerativen Erkrankungen, Schlaganfall und Gliomen auftreten. Wir nutzen Positronen-Emissions-Tomographie (PET), Einzelphotonen-Emissions-Tomographie (SPECT), Magnetresonanztomographie (MRT) und optische Bildgebung, um krankheitsspezifische Parameter zu lokalisieren und zu quantifizieren. Unser langfristiges Ziel ist es, diese Parameter für bildgebungsbasierte patientenspezifische Therapien einzusetzen. Darüber hinaus versuchen wir, die Rolle der Mikroglia in Kontext altersassoziierter molekularer Prozesse zu verstehen und bildgebend darzustellen.

    Immune-Image

    In diesem Projekt entwickeln wir Methoden, mit denen Immunzellen vor, während und nach einer Immunbehandlung beobachtet werden können. Wir sehen uns die Vorgänge zunächst in Krankheitsmodellen bei Tieren an – mit dem Ziel, die Ergebnisse und Methoden zeitnah auf Patienten zu übertragen und letztendlich Immuntherapien bei Krankheiten wie Krebs oder Entzündungen „bildgesteuert“ zu verbessern.
